The Art of Light on Stage: Lighting in Contemporary Theatre (Routledge, 2016) has been published in English with a foreword by Romeo Castellucci. It is based on Yaron Abulafia’s PhD study for which Heiner Goebbles was an academic advisor. Currently, this is the first and only English-book focussing on the new tendencies of lighting design for contemporary ‘post dramatic’ performance, approaching lighting design from semiotic and phenomenological perspectives, with reference to cognitive studies and the arts. In the book, the author introduces an innovative conceptual framework for the analysis of the bodily experience, the meaning and the autonomy of light in contemporary performance, considering light as a performer and the ‘sculptor’ of spatial perception.I invite you to find more information about the book here: https://www.routledge.com/The-Art-of-Light-on-Stage- Lighting-in-Contemporary- Theatre/Abulafia/p/book/ 9781138913684 Since the publication, institutes, associations and conferences from 20 countries invited Abulafia to present the book, mostly in national opera and theatres houses, festivals and stage expos, including:
